BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A Boise man was convicted by a jury Friday on multiple counts of lewd conduct and sexual abuse of a child charges.
The jury found 53-year-old Kevin Wheeler guilty of five counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 and two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under 16. Wheeler was arrested in January on a warrant for sexually abusing a child from 2007 to 2016.
Following the three-day jury trial, Wheeler now faces multiple life sentences in prison following his conviction.

Two of the men charged in last week’s Itasca County human trafficking bust were working on Enbridge’s Line 3 project, fueling concern that construction of the oil pipeline is bringing a higher risk of sex crimes to the area.

COLONIE, NY (WRGB) — Police in Colonie say they have arrested a man who worked as a youth soccer coach and mentor, accused of having sexual contact with a minor.
Investigators say 29 year old Amgad Abdalla, also known as “Coach Ali” was arrested after a police investigation.
He’s charged with criminal sex act, sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.

MESA, AZ — The Mesa Police Department says six men were arrested during a recent child sex crimes undercover operation.
Mesa police say they partnered with Homeland Security Investigations and the Attorney General’s Office during “Operation Leather Mitt,” which targeted child sex crime offenders and human trafficking.
Officers tracked websites commonly used by suspects looking for illegal sex acts, specifically involving children. The suspects solicited and or brokered deals with undercover officers in each case and were eventually arrested.

A Shelby County man is jailed on more than a half-million bond, accused of nearly a dozen sex crimes.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh teenager already facing child sex crimes now faces two additional charges.
Cary police arrested Michael Campbell McGill in late January at his Raleigh home. McGill was charged with first-degree statutory rape and statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, arrest warrants show. He received a $1 million bond.
