ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Lawmakers are trying to pass a bill that would close a gap in the statute of limitations for sex crimes against children.
According to the current law, cases must be brought to a judge within six years if the victim is between the ages of 13 and 17. There is no time limit for a case to be prosecuted if the child is under the age of 13.

(WECT) – As the investigation continues into Peter Frank, the Roland Grise Middle School teacher charged with 12 counts of indecent liberties with a child or student, a new state law aimed at reducing sexual abuse of children comes into sharp focus for one of the legislators behind it.

State Rep. Ted Davis (R-New Hanover) said the purpose behind Senate Bill 199 was to strengthen North Carolina’s laws protecting both children and adults who are victims of sexual violence.

A former Princeton City School wrestling coach and security monitor has been accused of sex crimes involved male children all under the age of 14, prosecutors say.

Lamont Baldwin, 54, has been indicted on 12 counts of felony gross sexual imposition. If convicted, he faces up to 50 years in prison.

FULTON COUNTY — A Rochester city councilman faces multiple charges after being accused of sex crimes involving a minor.
41-year-old Gary Clevenger Jr. is charged with child solicitation, sexual misconduct with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. These allegedly involve a teenager.
Court documents say that teen is between 14 and 16 years old.

Stephen Matt Snider, 39, of 801 Talbot St, Belpre, was indicted on six counts of gross sexual imposition, all third-degree felonies. The indictments stem from incidents involving two juvenile girls from January 2018 to December 2018, from January 2019 to July 2019 and on July 13-14.

A 15-year-old student struggling in math in one Bucks County school district sought help from her teacher. After a few meetings, they exchanged emails, then texts, then pictures. Eventually, the relationship became sexual.
In a neighboring district, a female teacher befriended a male student on Snapchat, then began swapping pictures and text messages; the exchanges eventually led to sex.
Another area teacher gave excessive passes to students, enabling them to cut class and visit his office. The same teacher repeatedly credited students for work that was
