Ducey signs bill ensuring sex crime victims don’t pay medical exam costs, but makes no exemptions for rape, incest in new abortion bill

For 25 years, the federal Violence Against Women Act has required any state that wants to be eligible for certain federal grants to certify that the state covers the cost of medical forensic exams for people who have been sexually assaulted.

Governor Doug Ducey today signed legislation to ensure victims of sex crimes are not charged for any part of the medical or forensic examination related to the crime.

College sex cult leader who lived in daughter’s dorm is found guilty of crimes

NEW YORK — The leader of the Sarah Lawrence College sex cult was found guilty Wednesday and now faces life in prison for a decade of physical, mental and sexual abuse of a group of wayward college kids.

Suspect Charged After Allegedly Kidnapping 14-Year-Old Girl from Utah and Taking Her to Texas

A Texas man faces the possibility of significant time behind bars over the alleged abduction of a 14-year-old Utah girl earlier this week.

Frank David Lopez, 20, stands accused of one count of aggravated kidnapping over the incident that prompted a multi-state search and AMBER Alert on Tuesday, March 22, 2021.

Detroit Lakes man arrested for sex crimes against a minor

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – 65-year-old Patrick Fineday of Detroit Lakes was arrested for sex crimes against a minor. According to the report, this spanned from Feb. 13, 2017 to Oct. 11, 2021.

According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report in February this year of an 11-year-old victim. The suspect turned out to be Fineday and that this had been going on since the victim was in the first grade. The victim was interviewed and gave a descriptive detail of what happened to her

Undercover operation: Beaufort Marine arrested for sex crimes against minor

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – A Marine from Beaufort was arrested in an undercover operation last week for allegedly attempting to have sex with a minor, officials said.

The Island News reports Sgt. Devin Pafford, 27, is stationed at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

According to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, on St. Patrick’s Day, Pafford arrived at a predetermined location in Camden with the intent to engage in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl.
