A Big Stone Gap man must spend 15 years in prison after he was convicted of multiple child sex crimes this week, according to Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steven Davis.

John Patton Hensley Head, 39, was convicted on multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery, indecent liberties with children, and sexual object penetration. Head entered an Alford plea. An Alford plea is when the suspect admits there is enough evidence to convict him at trial but does not admit guilt.

United States Attorney Dennis R. Holmes announced that Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with the assistance of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Sioux Falls Police Department, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a joint online sex crimes operation that ran from March 6, 2022, through March 10, 2022.

DURHAM, N.C. — A former Durham gymnastics coach indicted for sex crimes against three young gymnasts has been offered a plea agreement — that comes with a much lighter sentence.

This week, however, a judge refused to accept the agreement as written.

Stephen Maness, the man at the center of this case, once operated Bull City Gymnastics. He has been accused of assaulting three young girls who were enrolled there.

Mar. 8—A Cobb man has been sentenced to two life sentences plus another five years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sex offenses against children.

Bennie Johnson, 66, of Mableton, was convicted of rape, aggravated child molestation, and two counts of child molestation against an eight-year-old child last month. His charges, the Cobb District Attorney’s Office said, stemmed from incidents that began in 2017.

The investigation also found Johnson had molested two additional victims.

Two Toledo men have been indicted – again — for rape and importuning.

A Wood County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Emiliano Mendoza, 28, Bowling Green, for compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony.

On Oct. 7, he is accused of knowingly encouraging or soliciting a sexual activity for hire with a 16-year-old.

John Eric Gebrosky, 34, of Toledo and currently in jail, was indicted for rape, a first-degree felony, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony.

From May 1-Sept. 1, 2012, he is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old
