Local man charged with two sex crimes after teenager reports being drugged, raped

POCATELLO — A 35-year-old local man accused of recently possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver has also been charged with two sex crimes against a child in connection to an incident in August 2020, according to court and police records.

US fugitives wanted for sexual offences extradited from Guyana

Fugitives Julian Yhip and Kareem Hack were on February 25 successfully extradited from Guyana to the United States to faces charges on separate sexual offences, the US Embassy has announced.

This was as a result of a joint endeavour involving the US Embassy, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Guyana Police Force, the US Department of Justice, the United States Marshal Service, and the Diplomatic Security Service.

Singapore sex offenders face more severe punishment from March 1 under amended laws

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): The courts will be able to deal with molesters more severely from Tuesday (March 1), as increased penalties for sex crimes kick in.

The Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 2021 was passed by Parliament on Sept 12 last year.

The amendments increase penalties for sexual offences, expand and clarify the scope of certain offences and defences, as well as modernise the language of the law.

County to vote on financing sex crime unit

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners are scheduled to vote today to continue funding the Child Assault Prosecution Unit using $329,133 from the county’s Children Services Board fund.

The funds provide the necessary income for the prosecutor’s office to pay for a unit that specializes in the prosecution of people accused of sex crimes involving children, and to ensure those convicted of these crimes stay in prison.

A Tucker man was sentenced to 450 months in prison for the sexual assault and murder of a two-year-old girl

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Tucker man was sentenced to 450 months (37 years) in federal prison for the sexual assault and murder of a two-year-old girl.

Court documents stated that Brett K. Hickman, 28, sexually assaulted and murdered the two-year-old girl on June 8, 2019 in the Tucker Community of the Choctaw Indian Preservation.

Hickman pled guilty before United States District Judge David Bramlette in United States District Court on July 13, 2021.

Haughton man arrested on sex crimes involving juveniles

BENTON, La. — A Haughton man has been arrested on multiple sexual abuse charges involving juveniles, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday in a news release.

Conrad Williams, 55, was arrested on Feb. 28 by the U. S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Detectives said Williams admitted during an interview to befriending several juveniles ages 13 and 14 on social media.
