SAN ANTONIO – Officials from the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office and the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office are urging potential sex crime victims of a disbarred San Antonio lawyer to come forward.

Mark Benavides is currently serving an 80-year prison term after he was convicted in 2018 of trading sex for legal services from women he was representing.

Officials said the women were extorted by Benavides to take plea deals for crimes they didn’t commit.

”When you drill down deeper and what we’ve seen in the cases, it’s actually extortion,”

An autistic Corvallis man on Monday morning was sentenced to more than 45 years in prison for sexual crimes committed against a girl for roughly four years beginning when she was about 8 years old.

Michael Brian Killion, 37, pleaded guilty to 24 felony counts and was sentenced to a total of 550 months by Judge Joan E. Demarest in Benton County Circuit Court.

The guilty pleas included 10 counts of first-degree sodomy and 12 counts of first-degree sexual penetration,

An Alabama man, who argued that he was breaking into the pornography industry when he was indicted on five counts of rape and seven counts of sodomy years ago, was arrested on a new rape charge on Wednesday. The arrest came about a month after he was released on a $100,000 bond when his trial was once pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

HOPEWELL, Va. — Four Hopewell residents have been arrested and charged with more than a dozen felonies from abduction and kidnapping to aggravated Sexual Battery, and child abuse and neglect.

ABILENE, Texas — A Taylor County grand jury indicted nine men accused of child sex crimes.

Virgil Lynn Perkins – online solicitation of a minor.

According to the indictment, on March 3, Perkins, 66, of Abilene, met who he thought was a 16-year-old girl on an app called “Whisper.”

He told the undercover officer “U could get me in jail lol.”

Perkins told the girl he could come over and watch her shower or she could come to his house and shower.

A Sutherlin man was arrested Thursday and accused of sexually abusing a young girl for multiple years, according to the Sutherlin Police Department.

In February, police received a report that Cory Lee Bernhardt, 35, had been repeatedly abusing a young girl who he knew personally. During the ensuing investigation, detectives determined that Bernhardt could have started sexually abusing the young girl between 2015 and 2018, when the victim was between the ages of 4 and 7, according to court documents.
