A 26-year-old Hays man was sentenced to more than five years in prison Monday for having sex with a 14-year-old.
Robert Sanetta was originally charged with two counts of indent liberties with a child and one count of criminal sodomy for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old in 2018.
As the result of a plea agreement, Sanetta pleaded no contest in September to the two felony counts of indent liberties and the criminal sodomy charged was dismissed.
Under the agreement, Sanetta was expected to be sentenced to

QUEENSBURY — Two psychiatrists concluded recently that an accused child sex molester is unable to assist with his own defense, but the man’s lawyer said his issues were just problems with his former lawyer and that the prosecution against him should continue.
Warren County Judge John Hall agreed, and found that the case against Brandon M. Frasier, 26, of Johnsburg, can continue.
Frasier faces a felony charge of first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly having sexual contact with a 7-year-old with whom he was acquainted last December.

The marriage of one of WA’s worst sex offenders in one of the key factors why he should not be released from prison because of fears his wife could be added to his long list of victims, the Supreme Court has been told.

Garry Narkle, who is now 64, is fighting an application by prosecutors to have him declared a “dangerous sex offender” and be kept in custody under laws introduced in 2006.

The laws were drafted with him in mind, but were never applied to him.

The streets of Spain were filled with protesters – mostly women of all ages – on Monday as they demanded the country’s laws be changed after five men were acquitted of raping an unconscious 14-year-old girl.

Outside the gates of the Ministry of Justice in Madrid, several hundred gathered holding banners reading, “I do believe you!” and “It’s not abuse, it’s rape.”
Monday’s protests were held in more than 40 cities as the hashtag #EnoughPatriarchalJustice spread on social media.

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – In early September, Joseph Stephens took off before a Cleveland County jury found him guilty of two counts of forcible sodomy and one count of lewd acts with a child.

The jury recommended a 139-year sentence for Stephens. He was found a week later hiding with his wife in a hotel room, and Thursday, a judge agreed with the jury sentencing Stephens to the full 139 years in prison.

A decision his brother-in-law says was a long time coming.

PROVIDENCE — A Superior Court judge last week vacated a Woonsocket man’s conviction for raping an 8-year-old girl in 2006, finding that he wasn’t informed that he would remain under mandatory community supervision as a sex offender if he is ever released on parole.
