James P. Donny Vandiver, a 39 year old Russellville police sergeant, was sentenced to two year in federalprison for soliciting sex from a minor. He will begin his sentence September 22. The arrest waspart of an undercover federal and state sting operation.

Donald Andre Davis, a 43 year old man convicted of four sex related charges involving a 9 year old child, was given two consecutive life sentences Tuesday plus two 20 year prison terms.  He was convicted of first degree sodomy, first degree rape, first degree sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.  In addition to sexually abusing the child, Davis was convicted of possessing pornographic pictures of the child and other children.  He was sentenced to life in prison with the opportunity for parole for the sodomy and rape convictions.

Trent Fouts, 35, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the torture killing of a toddler left in his care.  He was convicted of murder in March for the 1997 murder of 1 1/2 year old.    Fouts said he had gotten high just before the boys mother left.  He was acquitted of a molestation charge.

Robert Glen Coe, 43, a convicted child rapist and killer is closer to becoming the first person executed in the state in 40 years.  A federal appeals court lifted the stay of execution.  The latest ruling in the legal death struggle, that has gone on for 19 years, could result in Coe being executed by lethal injection 1 a.m. Thursday at Riverbend Maximum Security Institute.  In 1981, Coe was sentenced to death for the kidnap, rape and murder of 8 year old Cary Ann Medlin.  The conviction was overturned in
