Shirley Man Forced Homeless Teen into Sex Acts for Shelter, DA Says

A Shirley man offered shelter to an 18-year-old girl experiencing homelessness. Then, he forced her to engage in sex acts with others to “repay” him.

Javesh Persaud, 34, of Shirley, pleaded guilty on Oct. 28 to sex trafficking and other related charges for forcing the unhoused teenager into performing sex acts on others so she could make money to “repay” him for the shelter he had promised her, said Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney.

A Miami Beach doctor-in-training thought he was in the process of buying a 12-year-old girl from a human trafficker to keep locked in his home to have sex with and keep under his control, authorities say. He was actually speaking with an FBI agent.

A high school paraprofessional in Midwood has been charged with child pornography and sextortion, according to authorities.

Police say Brian Quinones worked as a paraprofessional at Midwood High School just months ago and was arrested Wednesday. At this time, there is no evidence showing that any students were victims, but it is reported Quinones enticed minors to send him sexually explicit videos on apps like WhatsApp and then threatened to publicly release them.

Midwood High School removed Quinones as an employer last October when they learned about the investigation.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man drugged a child he met on Snapchat and raped her at least twice, police wrote in court documents.

George Duran, 25, faces charges of sexual assault against a child under 14 and luring a child to engage in sex, court records said.

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) – A Weatherford man who impersonated a doctor and convinced women to take off their clothes to be examined for a fictitious medical study has agreed to plead guilty.

Anthony Benedict, 34, was scheduled for trial this week but signed a judicial confession to the charge of compelling prostitution by force, threat, coercion or fraud.

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man accused of posing as a teenage girl online allegedly sexually abused a teenage boy he had enticed to meet.

Slade King, 31, was arrested Friday for Sexual Assault of a Child in connection to this incident. He was released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond.

Police say a teen came forward and said King, who was a stranger to him, contacted him on a popular social media application while posing as a teenage girl.
