Kirk Coleman, a 27 year old former Army paratrooper, is accused of raping his 3-month olddaughter in Michigan.  He has pleaded guilty to attempted child abuse after prosecutors agreedto drop charges of criminal sexual conduct and child abuse.  Coleman faces up to five years inprison.  The baby suffered brain damage and broken bones, she is unconscious and needs aventilator to breathe.

Thomas H. Jackson, a 21 year old part time painter from Shirley, and Kevin Volinski, a 49 year old married chef from Southold, were arrested for having child pornography on their computers and distributing the images over the Internet.  Jackson, of 30 Thornwood Dr., was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.  He was released without bail at his arraignment.  Volinski, of 50930 Main Rd, was charged with the same crimes as Jackson and was released on $1,000 bail.
