Daniel Rodriguez, a 45 year old registered sex offender who sexually abused a juvenilefemale victim, was arrested today as a result of an investigation by detectives from the SpecialVictims Section.  He is charged with Aggravated Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree, Promoting a SexualPerformance of a Child, Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance and Failure to Register as a sexoffender.  Rodriguez, of 1126 Udall Road, Bay Shore, was convicted of Rape 1st Degree in 1992and was required to register as a sex offender.  Detectives are asking

Isabel Chavelo Gutierrez, a 53 year old overweight registered sex offender, died whileraping a 77-year-old South Texas woman.  The incident happened June 2, after Gutierrez rodetwo miles by bicycle from his home to the victims home.  Gutierrez, weighing between 230 and250 pounds, sneaked into the woman’s house and began raping her at knifepoint.  During theattack, he said he wasn’t feeling well, rolled over and died.  He was a registered sexualoffender on parole for aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child.
