MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia Senator Maroney is facing a misdemeanor charge of prostitution after turning himself into Glen Dale police on Wednesday morning.

Police have been investigating Cortnie Clark, who was suspected of engaging in prostitution, setting up dates and times through text messages.

One number police found in Clark’s phone was registered to Maroney.

Police served his cell phone provider with a search warrant.

According to the complaint, the first documented texts between Maroney and Clark happened on May 14, 2109.

QUINCY (WGEM) — A former chaplain at a Quincy nursing home who was accused of sexually abusing two residents as well as inappropriate sexual contact with underage female family members took a plea deal and was sentenced in both cases Monday afternoon.
According to court records, James Riley, 58, was sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison on multiple charges in both cases.
