Dallas Morning News/Rick Klein 10/16/1999 Ronald Steve Chewning Jr., a 30-year-old registered sex offender, known to many areachildren as Sparkie the Clown, was arrested after two girls told police that he molestedthem.  Officers allege that Chewning had inappropriate contact with two neighborhood childrenthis summer while not in costume.  The girls, ages 12 and 13, told investigators that hetouched them in the front yard of his Balch Springs home.  He was arrested on two seconddegree felony counts of indecency with a child by contact.  He was being held in lieu of$150,000

Wftv.com 7/23/2007 Polk County deputies and state investigators arrested 22 men for allegedly using theInternet to solicit sex with children.  Among those arrested in the undercover sting were ayouth hockey coach and a former Marion County deputy.  The sting, called Operation Guardian,is Polk County investigators pretending to be girls between the ages of 13 and 15.  Among themen arrested were: – Nathan Galbraith, 22, a youth hockey coach from Orlando. – David Ronan, 42, a former volunteer Osceola County Firefighter. – Joseph Cioffi, 51, a Department of Homeland Security employee at OrlandoInternational Airport
