Dennis DeMille, a 29 year old North Massapequa man, was arrested October 25, 2007, afterpolice learned that he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16 year old girl.  DeMille, of 443 N. Queens Avenue, faces four counts of criminal sexual act and one count each ofrape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. DeMille has admitted to downloading child pornography.  He was also arrested July 20,2007, by Suffolk County police for allegedly possessing child pornography depicting girls youngerthan 16 engaged in sexual acts. Florida carried out its first execution yesterday since a botched lethalinjection procedure prompted a review of how it conducts capital punishment.  Mark DeanSchwab,39, convicted of kidnapping, raping and killing Junny Rios-Martinez, 11, of Cocoa in 1991, died at6:15 p.m.  It was a test of Florida’s new procedure, instituted after Angel Diaz was executedin December 2006.  Needles missed their mark and Diaz suffered burns and extreme pain. It took 34 minutes for Diaz to die.Schwab’s execution lasted 12 minutes.

The investigation of the disappearance of  a 12 year old girl from Vermontzeroed in on her uncle yesterday, with police searching his home while he was arraigned on sexcharges in an unrelated case.  Michael Jacques, a registered sex offender and one of the lastpeople seen with Brooke Bennett before she vanished, pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravatedsexual assault and was held in lieu of $250,000 bail.  Jacques is called a person ofinterest in Brooke’s case.
