LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) A Lafayette man is in jail tonight after attempting to solicit a minor online.
If convicted of his crimes, 33-year-old Brandon Leon would be required to register as a sex offender, joining the almost two thousand other convicts.
Leon was arrested on Jan. 17, 2021 for several charges including indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor. If convicted, Leon could face over two decades in prison for his alleged actions.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Jazmonique Strickland, the wife of Stricjavvar “Strick” Strickland, has been charged with eight felony counts related to child sexual assault and human trafficking of a minor, according to Kalamazoo County Court Records.
On Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, a Kalamazoo County judge issued an arrest warrant for Jazmonique Strickland.
“These are extraordinarily serious allegations. These are offenses for which it’s common that significant prison sentences are the outcome if people are convicted of those crimes,” Kalamazoo Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Getting said.

An ex-Fremont Police Department officer was sentenced to 30 months in prison after being found guilty on Wednesday of sexually abusing a minor.

DECATUR MAN SENTENCED TO 90 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES

PEORIA, Ill. – Gary L. Boyle, 36, of Decatur was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a child and child pornography. The sentence will be served after Boyle completes a 40-year state sentence for predatory criminal sexual assault.
At a hearing on Thursday, Jan. 14, the government described Boyle as “a manipulative pedophile who consumes young children for his own sexual pleasure,” and as an avid collector of violent child pornography, according to a press release.

WATERLOO — Overall crime in rural Black Hawk County remained flat in 2020, but the county did see an increase in sex offenses and drunk driving arrests, according to numbers released Tuesday by the sheriff’s office.
