Disgraced self-improvement guru Keith Raniere, whose NXIVM followers included millionaires and Hollywood actors, has been sentenced to 120 years for turning some adherents into sex slaves branded with his initials.
US District Judge Nicholas Garaufis handed down the sentence in federal court in Brooklyn on Tuesday after a lengthy hearing featuring statements by victims of a sex-trafficking conspiracy that resulted in Raniere’s conviction last year.
Prosecutors had sought life in prison while defence lawyers said he should face 15 years behind bars.

Rabbi Joel Kolko, one of NYC’s most notorious accused pedophiles, has reportedly died of COVID-19 while in Israel, sources told The Post.
Kolko, 74, was visiting the country for recent holidays and fell ill with the coronavirus, they said.

WAPELLO — One person has been arrested in Wapello on sex abuse charges, while a second subject is in custody for violations of the sex offender registry, according to a press release from the Wapello Police Department.
Larry Ward, 64, of Wapello, was charged with one count of Class B felony sexual abuse in the second degree on July 17. If convicted, Ward could face up to 25 years in prison. He is accused of sexual abuse of a child.
