Suffolk DA: Arrest Made in 2003 Fatal Beating of 88-year-old Bay Shore Woman

An arrest has been made in the fatal beating of an 88-year-old woman in Bay Shore that happened over two decades ago.

Edna Schubert was found dead in her Frederick Avenue home in December 2003.

The suspect has not yet been named.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says it will announce Friday how investigators caught the accused killer.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. —  A Saratoga, Calif., man extradited from France to face charges in a 2013 campus sexual assault case has waived his right to a pretrial hearing in Pennsylvania.

Ian Cleary, 32, will remain in custody until a formal arraignment in Gettysburg set for March 18. He is accused of stalking a woman at Gettysburg College, sneaking into her dorm and sexually assaulting her.
