LONDON (AP) — British prosecutors said Thursday they had authorized police to charge actor Kevin Spacey with four counts of sexual assault against three men, an announcement that came as the actor was in court in New York testifying in a different case.

At least 135 teachers and teachers’ aides have been arrested so far this year on child sex-related crimes in the U.S., ranging from child pornography to raping students.

An analysis conducted by Fox News Digital looked at local news stories week by week featuring arrests of teachers and teachers’ aides on child sex-related crimes in school districts across the country. Arrests that weren’t publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher.

A registered sex offender accused of possessing child porn was in court Friday.

Prosecutors say Keith Schoelermann, 29, had hundreds of lewd photos and videos of children.

Schoelermann was having a routine check when the evidence was found, according to police.

Prosecutors in court said he had a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, which was not registered to him, where they found hundreds of pornographic images of children.

Police also obtained a search warrant for his home on Grove Road in Mastic Beach following the discovery.

Schoelermann faces a mandatory seven-year imprisonment if convicted
