RAPE SUSPECT CHARGED IN MURDER PLOT

Benjamin Simmons, a 42 year old Uniondale man awaiting trial on rape charges, tried to have a key witness killed, believing doing so would free him from jail.  He detailed his plans to an undercover detective who posed as a hit man, saying he wanted the mother of his victim, who was his live-in girlfriend, murdered.  Simmons was charged yesterday with second-degree criminal solicitation, a felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison.  He has been incarcerated in Nassau County jail in East Meadow since he was indicted for

THOUSANDS OF PERVS ON LOOSE: STUDY

JERSEY DIOCESE TO PAY 800G IN SEX SETTLEMENT

The Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey, will pay an $800,000 settlement to 10 former parishioners who claim they were sexually abused by five Catholic priests.  None of the priests admitted wrongdoing as part of the settlement.  The settlement resolved claims against Monsignor Michael Cashman of Woodbridge, once a spiritual adviser to Governor Jim McGreevey, and the Rev. COPS STILL SAY THEY WERE RIGHT ON CENTRAL PARK (Probe says serial rapist Reyes assaulted jogger later)
