Paula Lynn Roach, a 24 year old former state correction officer, is being held on a charge of aggravated kidnapping.  She allegedly abducted 1-month old Nancy Crystal Chavez from a Wal-Mart parking lot, dragging the child’s frantic mother across the pavement as she clutched the abductor’s car trying to rescue the baby.  The kidnapping was videotaped by a surveillance camera.  The grainy image shows the infants mother, Margarita Chavez, placing her children Nancy, a 2 year old and a 6 years old in a minivan about 4:30 p.m. local time

Cops are hunting for a sexual predator described as a light-skinned black or dark-skinned Latino, about 6-foot, 180 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts, and black sneakers.  The attacker forcibly raped a 14 year old girl on the rooftop of her East Harlem apartment building before entering her residence, where he molested and robbed her 16 year old sister.  Anyone with information is urged to call police confidentially at (800) 577-TIPS.

The body of 6 year old Destiny Wright, who disappeared from a sleepover in Philadelphia, was found in a wooded area behind row houses last night.  An 18 year old suspect who was being questioned by police and the FBI confessed to killing her and led investigators to her body.  He was immediately charged and police did not release his name or a cause of death.  Destiny was last seen at the home of her father’s girlfriend, where she went to sleep with about five other children early Wednesday morning,
