Saad bin Abdullah al-Zahrani and Saeed bin Salem bin Saeed were convicted of murder and rape. The two Saudi men were beheaded Saturday. al-Zahrani fatally shot Rashash bin Ahmed al-Zahrani after an arguement and Saeed kidnapped and raped a girl. These executions brings the number of people beheaded in Saudi Arabia this year to 52.
A study, Online Victimization: A Report on the Nation’s Youth, reports that one-fifth of the children using the Internet have been propositioned for sex online. The study also reports that one quarter have been exposed to unwanted pornography. According to APBnews.com, this is believed to be the first nationwide survey on the problem.
Matthew Roth, a sex offender, faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a federal drug charge for buying a 55-gallon drum containing 98,000 doses of a substance used to manufacture the date rape drug GHB. He will be sentenced August 29. In 1995 he was convicted of a lewd and lascivious act on a child under 16. He pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute GHB.

Robert Frederick Carr kidnapped, tortured and strangled Jayne Peyton’s 11 year old son, Todd. She said Carr cost her family their heart, leaving a hole in the fabric of our family. Fourteen centuries were added to his sentence. A tentative release date is set for July 30, 3414. His crimes were so wicked, his victims so young and vulnerable, the child rapist and killer will meet his maker a thousand years before Florida would have let him out of prison.
According to CNET News.com, a study conducted by the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire said that one out of five youths between the ages of 10 and 17 who use the Internet is regularly exposed to unwanted sexual solicitations. Online sexual solicitations are as likely to come from other youths than from the stereotypical Internet pedophile. The study says, 48% of youths under the age of 18 were the perpetrators of the sexual solicitations and 19% of sexual requests came from females.
According to the Associated Press, David Giles, 50, a two-time congressional candidate was convicted of raping a preteen girl after he told a 900-number chat service he had assaulted a young relative. He was jailed to await sentencing on charges of first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation.
