Charles Veal, 35, a Crystal River patrolman, was arrested after a computer disk containingimages of children engaging in sex acts with adults was found in his patrol car. Veal was chargedwith four counts of possessing child pornography, a third-degree felony that carries a maximum5-year prison sentence on Tuesday. An investigation began last month after the computer disk wasfound in the patrol car Veal had used, Crystal River Police Chief James Farley said. Veal wasreleased on $2,000 bail pending his arraignment February 18th in Citrus County Circuit Court.

Maureen Kanka, crusader for sex offender notification since the murder of her daughter told APBnews.com she would like to change the New Jersey Constitution so that residents can access the names of all sex offenders in the state. She would like them to be able to access the names through the Internet or a CD-ROM at a local police department. Leslie Tucker, 62, a former mail carrier from Crete, has been convicted of molesting young girls along his Park Forest postal route and sentenced to 14 years in prison during an emotional hearing that included statements from the parents of his victims and words of remorse from Tucker himself. Before sentencing Tucker spoke out in his defense saying, God and Jesus had changed the lives of vile people, including him. He also apologized to the victims and their families.
Dick Williams, 70, was arrested on an indecent exposure charge while attending the World Series of Fantasy Baseball Camp. Williams, who managed the Oakland Athletics to two World Series titles, was accused of walking naked and masturbating outside his Fort Myers hotel room on January 17th. He pleaded no contest at a hearing, the judge withheld judgment and he was released on time served.
Kevin Couch, 29, a staff member for US Senator Tim Hutchinson is facing felony charges for exposing himself while driving on a highway. He was arrested Monday and charged with one count of public exposure. According to witnesses, he pulled up in his Jeep next to their vehicle about 8:30 p.n. while traveling about 70 mph, exposed himself and fondled himself in full view of the occupants of the other car several times. David Harris, 34, of Hopatcong, New Jersey, was arrested for arranging over the Internet to meet a 12-year-old Abington boy for sex. Harris was arrested at a shopping mall after the boy’s father confronted him and a scuffled ensued. According to APBnews.com, he was charged with criminal solicitation for involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, illegal use of a communications device, unlawful contact with a minor and corrupting the morals of a minor.
