SINGAPORE: The maximum penalties for three types of sexual offences will each be increased by a year, after a review of how some sexual and violence-related crimes are sentenced by Singapore courts, Minister of Law K Shanmugam said on Friday (Mar 5).

A North Carolina man has been charged with more than 100 counts related to secret peeping and indecent liberties with a minor, authorities said.

Michael Justin Childers, 32, is being held under a $1.25 million secured bond after he was arrested Thursday following a monthslong investigation.

Childers faces 53 counts of felony secret peeping, 55 counts of felony possession of secret peeping material and nine counts of felony indecent liberties with a minor, investigators announced.

A 72-year-old man accused of raping a teenage girl for 11 years was arrested Tuesday.

William K. Huffstetler, of Kings Mountain, faces 21 child sexual assault charges. Huffstetler manipulated the girl from 2009 to 2020, according to investigators. She was reportedly 13 when the abuse began.

Now a young woman, Huffstetler’s accuser finally felt confident enough to report her allegations to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office about four days ago.

Huffstetler was brought in for questioning and subsequently placed in Cleveland County Jail.

Robert William Havery, 40, of Boise, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a pair of child sex crimes.

Havery was arrested and charged in December 2019 with transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and receipt of child pornography, according to a news release Tuesday from the Idaho U.S. Attorney’s Office. He pleaded guilty last June.

WOODBURY – A Gloucester County man with a record of sex crimes against children is facing new charges of misconduct with a minor.

Scott Bicking, 54, of Paulsboro is accused of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by prosecutor’s offices in Cumberland and Gloucester counties, those agencies say.

Bicking was on probation for a sex crime at the time of the latest alleged offenses, court records show.

A judge sentenced former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II to 14 years in prison Wednesday for rapes and other sexual offenses against several women in Southern California.
