BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — A man who has worked for at least two metro-area school districts is charged with sexually abusing at least two children in cases that date back several decades.

Prosecutors say 65-year-old Kevin Edward Belker of Bloomington sexually assaulted two boys under the age of 13, in incidents that took place between the spring of 1977 and winter of 1980.

Police in Australia have rescued 46 children and arrested 14 men, following an investigation into an international child abuse network that has also led to arrests in the U.S.
The victims, aged between 16 months and 15 years old, were subjected to sexual abuse and exploitation and were saved after a year-long investigation following a tip-off from U.S. investigators who were looking into an Australian internet user. Police say 16 of the children were rescued from a childcare center.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – U.S. District Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr. sentenced today Brian Parks Moore, 51, of Matthews, N.C. to 188 months in prison for transportation of child pornography, announced Andrew Murray, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Judge Conrad also ordered Moore to serve 30 years of supervised release and to register as a sex offender.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. — A man who called authorities to report an unattended death Monday ended up behind bars himself on sex abuse charges.
Christopher Pruitt, 30, of Boaz, was charged with sexual abuse of a child under 12 and first-degree sexual abuse.

CHARLOTTE — There are new claims alleging that a former priest sexually abused a boy inside a Ballantyne church.

Former Catholic priest Robert Yurgel is a free man after he went to prison in 2009 for abusing an altar boy at St. Matthews in the late 1990s.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Fredericksburg’s executive director of the Office on Youth is facing multiple felony charges including sex crimes involving an underage victim.

Spotsylvania detectives charged 40-year-old Benjamin James Nagle with two counts of conspiracy to violate the drug control act, one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor and one count of possession of child pornography.
