LEBANON, Ohio — A former youth sports coach accused of sex crimes against children asked a Warren County judge to amend conditions of his bond.

Eric Schmidt, 42, of Mason is not supposed to be around minors except for his own children. During a hearing Tuesday, Schmidt asked Judge Robert Peeler for permission to attend his children’s’ sporting events.

In a move that will likely shave four years off the convicted sex offender’s prison sentence, former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. agreed to a plea deal last week in the rape or assault of three women.

Winslow, 37, is now facing a 14-year prison term in exchange for a guilty plea that was submitted on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

In 2019, Winslow was accused of raping or assaulting three women in California, including a 58-year-old unhoused woman, an unconscious teenager, and a hitchhiker.

A Bismarck man serving a 30-year sentence for child sex crimes in Burleigh County entered an Alford plea Wednesday to similar charges in Morton County and was sentenced.

Russell Walbert, 65, was ordered to spend 461 days in prison and five years on probation upon his release. South Central District Judge James Hill gave Walbert credit for 461 days served. KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The wife of a Kalamazoo pastor who along with her husband is accused of paying teens for sex has been formally charged.

Jazmonique Strickland turned herself in to Kalamazoo County authorities early Monday and was arraigned on three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of child sexual abusive activity and three counts of human trafficking a minor.

The charges against her were issued earlier this month. Strickland, who has been living in her husband’s home state of Mississippi, had to return to Michigan

Prosecutors in Los Angeles County are barred from attending an upcoming parole hearing to oppose the release of a serial child rapist as part of a series of controversial reforms implemented by District Attorney George Gascon.

Ruben Beltran was convicted for the sexual assault of a girl, 6, and an 8-year-old boy. The pair are brother and sister, KTTV-TV, the Fox-owned station in Los Angeles reported. He has been imprisoned since 2004.

Beltran was a friend of the family, according to reports.
