Police in Kashmir fired tear gas and used batons yesterday to disperse thousands of people protesting the alleged rape of a woman and her 10 year old daughter Sunday by soldiers.  They marched through the streets of Srinagar, India, shouting slogans and shaking their fists.  The alleged rape occurred during a search for militants in a remote village.  The army major alleged to have committed the crime has been removed by authorities.  The state government has ordered an investigation.

A 15 year old boy has been charged with raping a female teacher at a school in central London.  He has been charged with rape and sexual assault.  He was arrested the day after the newly qualified 28 year old teacher reported she’d been attacked on her second day on the job.
