A Manhattan Ophthalmologist and three other men were arrested for allegedly arranging sex trysts on the Internet with 13 and 14 year old girls, who were really undercover investigators working for the Nassau County district attorney.  The stings were a part of Operation Teensaver, aimed at intercepting online predators before they succeed in making contact with vulnerable youngsters.  The four men arrested are Dr. Mark Hornfeld, the 38 year old eye doctor, Joshua Cutler, a 32 year old music roadie, of Division Street, Rye Brook, Steven Jacobs, a 54 year

Robert Ruggiero, a 25 year old teacher on leave from Oceanside Middle School, has been arrested by federal agents on a charge of buying and distributing child pornography over the Internet.  He was arraigned in federal District Court in Central Islip on Friday.  He paid $60 for what he thought were videos of pre-teenage girls engaged in sexual activities and sent similar pictures he had over the Internet.  He was released on Friday on $100,000 bail pending further hearings by federal Magistrate Michael Orenstein.

Kevin Dern, a former music teacher at the exclusive Greenwich Academy girls’ school, resigned after cops raided his Greenwich home and seized videotapes, computers and computer discs.  He ran a Web site featuring sexy photos of Long Island cheerleaders.  Some of the tapes contained pornography.  The Web site run by Dern, cheervideos.com, featured photos and videos of the girls at cheerleading competitions at Long Island high schools, there were close-ups as the girls jumped up or bent over.  The Web site has been shut down.  Dern, 29, now of Bensalem,

Anthony Vincent, a 23 year old Brooklyn man, was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16 year old Tennessee girl he met over the Internet.  He was charged with statutory rape and sodomy after the girl ran away from home last week and used a bus ticket he allegedly bought her to come to New York and live with him.
