Thomas Baudier, a 22 year old substitute teacher at Northport High School, wasunder investigation for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a 16 year old femalestudent.  Baudier, of Northport, met the student in a class when he became a permanentsubstitute in January.  He was charged with sexual abuse in the third degree and endangeringthe welfare of a child.  Bail was set at $5,000 cash or $25,000 bond. Fernando Flores, a 22 year old Southampton man, is accused of sexually abusing a 7 year oldgirl.  He had a fraudulent resident alien identification care when he was arrested. Flores, a Mexican national, was arrested just before noon Monday following a joint investigation bythe New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Village of SouthamptonPolice.  He is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree criminal possession of aforged instrument and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Riverhead school district activated its crisis team Friday after the arrest the nightbefore of James Finch, a 48 year old Naval Junior ROTC teacher at Riverhead High School on a childpornography charge.  Finch, of 1355 Roanoke Avenue,  pleaded not guilty to possessingchild pornography.  The district had suspended him even before the plea.  Finch’scomputer had numerous pictures of children under 16 engaging in sex.  Bail was set at $10,000.

Brian McKeon, a 58 year old former Roman Catholic priest who was one of the most notoriousfigures in the Diocese of Rockville Center’s child sex abuse scandal, has died in Florida. McKeon was found dead in his home in Port Richey on Monday.  The death of McKeons does notmean the numerous cases linked to him are over.  If a bill in Albany becomes law, victimscould still file civil lawsuits against the diocese, charging negligent hiring and supervision ofMcKeon.  The bill, sponsored by Assemblywoman Margaret Markey (D-Maspeth), would drop thestatute
