An East Bay oral surgeon has been charged with a slew of sex crimes involving children, including one child as young as nine.
Dr. Cassidy Lavorini-Doyle, 36, practiced oral surgery in a number of Bay Area locations over the years, and investigators are looking into whether there may be more victims.

A New York man has been charged following online conversations that he thought were with a young girl, but were in fact with law enforcement.
MOUNT HOLLY — A 42-year-old Staten Island man has been charged with attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with someone he met online and believed was a 14-year-old girl, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

A 25-year-old Marietta man received life in prison with a possibility of parole after 10 years after pleading guilty to multiple charges Friday afternoon in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

Devin Lindsey, of 408 Marion St., said before sentencing that he was signing an agreement pleading guilty to one count of rape, a first-degree felony; one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony.

After police said he barricaded himself in a Crystal Lake home and threatened officers with a knife, a McHenry man was taken into custody Friday night and charged with multiple felonies, including production of child pornography and sexual assault.

Matthew R. Reder, 24, was arrested following several hours of negotiations after he locked himself in a bathroom in the 500 block of Darlington Lane in the northwest suburb, according to a news release from Crystal Lake police.

Crystal Lake police were called to the home around 4:30 p.m.

RICHLAND, WA – The Richland and Kennewick police departments are receiving a cash forfeiture reward of just over $154,000 for their contributions in a federal child pornography case.
Last year, 63-year-old Kennewick resident Dale Gordon Black was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing child porn in his home.
About $186,000 was seized from Black – that same cash now being awarded to the Richland and Kennewick Police Departments. A separate $19,000 was paid in restitution.
