HOLLIDAYSBURG — A 20-year-old Altoona man is facing 10 to 20 years in prison after rendering guilty pleas Friday in Blair County Court to rape and related sex crimes involving three girls in 2019.
Dylan Patrick Weatherwalk was expected to go on trial in August but advised President Judge Elizabeth Doyle on Friday that he would render guilty pleas for the recommended sentence.
When Doyle asked Weatherwalk if anyone was forcing him to render his pleas, Weatherwalk shook his head no. The young man also told the judge

Alberto Maldonado, 39, was arrested for molesting a 12 year old boy outside the victim’s Arlington home.  Maldonado approached the boy in the front yard of his Lockman Avenue home at around 10 p.m. Sunday.  He is charged with sexual abuse and child endangerment.

Nick Sorrentino, a 61 year old convicted sex offender, was arrested for fatally bludgeoning a former gay lover in a Murray Hill apartment.  The July 10 arrested came after cops matched saliva left on a beverage can to Sorrentino’s DNA profile.  He is being held without bail on a murder charge.  He is accused of repeatedly smashing Jose Raul Prieto, 70, in the head with a fire extinguisher and then strangling him in his apartment on East 35th Street.  According to the New Jersey State Police sex offender Web site,

Andre Durham, a 20 year old Woodside man, was arrested on child-endangerment and assault charges.  He allegedly kissed an bit a 3 year old girl’s neck while she was sleeping in November.  When her mother asked about the marks on her neck, the girl pointed to Durham – a family acquaintance.  He was arrested and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Richard Gagliardotto, a 40 year old Flushing man, was arrested for allegedly raping a 14 yearrnold girl in his home. Gagliardotto met the girl on an adult phone party line in March. They bothrnlied about their ages at first and after several phone conversations, the suspect asked to meet therngirl. She refused and admitted to being a teenager, yet he repeatedly asked that she meet him atrnhis house. The girl then went to his 151st Street home and he sexually abused her.

Khalil Ess, a 15 year old boy who was accused, along with another teen, of raping and kidnapping a 12 year old girl on April 10, was arrested last week but authorities have now dropped the charges against him because prosecutors found no evidence he had raped her.  The investigation is continuing.  The girl claimed she was abducted from a bus stop and sexually assaulted.
