SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A former band director for Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township will go before a judge Thursday.
Christopher Traskal is scheduled to be arraigned today on one of the four counts against him. The criminal charges come after he was accused of inappropriate interactions with students.
7 Action News spoke to the victim in one of these cases. She says her life has been turned upside down.
“All the kids at school talk,” she said.
They say she slept with Traskal, which wasn’t the case.

Robert Tate, a 44 year old former music director of a Connecticut church where former PresidentGeorge H.W. Bush once worshipped, pleaded guilty yesterday to possessing child pornography. Tate,of Greenwich, admitted possessing between 150 and 300 pornographic images of children, someengaging in sexually explicit conduct. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine whenhe is sentenced April 12.

Frank Jones, a 53 year old Harlem Boys Choir counseling director, was charged on 15 counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse. The Post had learned that a second choirboy complained about inappropriate advances by Jones but the accusation was deemed unsubstantiated by child-welfare officials and was never passed on to police. Matthew Filippi, a 33 year old former music director at St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church in Selden, pleaded guilty in Suffolk County Court to having sex with an 11 year old girl who was his music student. He had been giving keyboard and voice lessons for two years to the girl and had sexual intercourse and oral sex between the two of them which took place in his van and at his home at 11 Turnberry Street in Setauket.
