Afghan President Hamid Karzai pardoned a 19 year old Afghan woman who was serving a 12 yearprison sentence for having sex out of wedlock after she was raped by a relative.  Karzai’soffice said that the woman and her attacker have agreed to marry. The woman had the man’s childwhile in prison and raised her daughter behind bars, which is common among women imprisoned inAfghanistan.

Nico Cruz Santos, a 21 year old airman, pleaded guilty in September to a charge of attemptedsexual exploitation of a child in Gilpin County west of Denver.  He faces up to 18 months inprison & possible discharge.  He was arrested in an Internet sting in 2010 and pleadedguilty in a plea agreement.  The Air Force is now investigating how Santos managed to get hisown handgun onto a sensitive air base in Colorado where he barricaded himself in a building for 10hours before surrendering.
