BISHOP CITES SEX ABUSE IN REMOVAL OF MAUI PRIEST

Rev. Joseph Bukoski III, a 49 year old Maui priest, has been permanently removed by Honolulu Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo.  Bukoski is accused of sexually abusing one or more minors.  He will not be allowed to act as a priest in the Honolulu Diocese again.  He has denied the charges and in an interview last wee, he was critical of DiLorenzo and accused the bishop of violating his rights.  Bukoski is the first priest in Hawaii to be removed in the Catholic Church’s nationwide sex-abuse scandal.

SHOCKED AND OUTRAGED

As the State Assembly representative for the area where Sal Inghilleri kidnapped and brutally assaulted a nine year old girl, I am both shocked and outraged by his release from prison only seven years later.

While I am a strong supporter of the Megan’s Law Sex Offender Registry and applaud Judge Gazzillo’s decision to classify Inghilleri as a high-risk offender, I believe more could be done to keep these vicious predators off our streets.  I support an Assembly Republican proposal that would allow violent sex offenders to be involuntarily committed

‘MY GOD, WE MADE IT!’ (Kidnapped girls tell how ordeal made them pals)

LYNBROOK MAN ACCUSED OF SENDING NET PORN

John Brunette, a 41 year old self-employed electrician, was arrested yesterday after he sent nude images of himself via the Internet to an investigator posing as a teenage girl.  He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on four counts of first-degree attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor.  He could be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison.

THE LEGACY OF BISHOP’S LETTER (Praise for priest in abuse case)

A complaint was made in 1999 to the Diocese of Rockville Centre by a former altar boy who said he had been sexually abused by a priest named Andrew Millar about eight years earlier, the boy was 10 years old.
