Lasondra Diane Smith, a 20 year old mother of a 2 year old, was arrested Friday and is now in jail on charges of child abuse and child abandonment. According to Ron Jones of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Smith has given conflicting reasons for the girl’s disappearance. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is hoping a $5,000 reward leads them to the missing girl whose mother said she traded her for crack cocaine. Gary R. Stayback, 52, a patrolman in Harrington Park, NJ for 29 years, was accused last Friday of molesting three young girls. He has also been charged today with sexually abusing two others seven years ago. He is charged with committing nine sex crimes against five girls, ages 11 to 15, between early 1992 and last February. Bail was set at $100,000.
