ASHEVILLE – A former Episcopal priest pleaded guilty to a multitude of child sex crimes in Western North Carolina, lending credence to allegations that span decades.

Howard White, 78, was indicted in Haywood County in 2016 on 15 charges including first-degree rape, second-degree forcible sex offense and indecent liberties with a child, District Attorney Ashley Welch told the Citizen Times.

White pleaded guilty Oct. 21 to all counts and, per a plea deal, the first-degree charges were reduced to second-degree ones. He was sentenced to 12 years

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A Houston teen’s short life might serve as a call to action to save others from the pain she suffered.

Letty Serrano, 15, was buried Monday after taking her life more than a week ago.

An Albuquerque father is on trial yet again, this time on charges that he forced his three children to beg for money that he used to fund his drug habit.
Prosecutor Collin Brennan said in his opening statement Tuesday that James Stewart made the kids panhandle rather than going to school. They sometimes stayed out all day asking for money.

Almost half of child sexual abuse victims were under the age of eight when the abuse began, according to research.
More than 4,000 survivors have shared their experiences with the Truth Project in England and Wales and, of the 3,265 accounts analysed for research, some 46% said they had only been eight when abused for the first time.
The inquiry has heard that many victims were warned by those in authority that their accusations could “ruin” the lives of their abusers.
