Jerry Lee Bellamy, a 53 year old convict just days away from release, is now charged with a sex murder committed 36 years ago, after DNA evidence linked him to the crime. He faces first-degree murder charges in the death of 13 year old Jane Durrua, who police say was raped and bludgeoned on an isolated pathway near her home in Middletown, New Jersey, on November 4, 1968. James Lee Crummel, a 60 year old predatory pedophile who sexually abused boys before and after he murdered 13 year old Jamey Trotter in 1979, deserves to be executed, a jury decided.  The jury rejected a defense of brain damage presented by Crummel’s lawyers.

Two Russian girls were rescued after being kidnapped, imprisoned in a dungeon for 3 1/2 years and repeatedly raped, resulting in three pregnancies, by a 53 year old machinery plant  worker.  The man has been charged with the abduction of the girls, who were 14 and 17 when they disappeared.  Russian police initially opened a missing persons investigation but later declared the two dead.

Kenneth Parnell, 72, kidnapped 7 year old Steven Staynor 30 years ago as he walked home fromschool. Parnell was arrested in January 2003 for allegedly trying to buy a 4 year old child for$500. He was convicted in 1980 of kidnapping Steven and a 5 year old boy and served 5 years and 1month in prison for the crimes, less time than Steven was kept from his family. Former US Marine Toby Studabaker, 32, who took a 12 year old girl on a European jaunt, told a German court at his arraignment on abduction charges that he did not have sex with her.  Studabaker said he would not contest extradition to Britain and insisted he thought English schoolgirl Shevaun Pennington, who left her home to travel to France with him in July 2003, was 18.  After he called the FBI on his phone, cops were able to track his movements and nabbed him outside the US Consulate in
