Melvin Clay Sr., a 62-year-old retired air traffic controller on Long Island from Moriches, has been charged with purchasing child pornography, a federal offense, from a Moscow company.  According to Newsday, he is among nine people arrested in the United States and Russia in connection with trafficking child pornography in an ongoing investigation by law enforcement authorities in both countries. Three other men were arrested in Indiana, San Francisco and Malden, Massachusetts.

Gary Gillard, a 38-year-old Huntington man, was convicted of four counts of first-degree sodomy,first-degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and third degree assault.
