The Suffolk Police computer crimes unit has charged four Long Island men with using Internetchat rooms to seek a sexual relationship with someone they thought was a 13 year old girl, but whoin fact was a detective. Jamie Smith, a 31 year old Lindenhurst man, was arrested and charged with various sexual counts involving a 15 year old Southampton girl.  Smith, of North Ontario Avenue, was arrested Saturday and charged with third degree rape, third degree criminal sexual act and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was being held at the Suffolk County jail on $30,100 bail.

Jon Williams, a 52 year old Huntington man, was arrested last night after he masturbated in front of an 11 year old boy and a 14 year old girl who told police that Williams had his hand down his pants while looking at them in the children’s section of the South Huntington Library on October 29.  The children notified adults in the library and an employee followed Williams and got a description and part of his license plate number.  He has been charged with public lewdness.
