Peter List, a 59 year old Levittown man who faces federal charges of child pornography, has been fired from his respiratory therapist job at North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove. The hospital suspended List after he was charged on August 28, 2006, and fired him September 26. List pleaded not guilty in federal court in Brooklyn to six counts of possession of child pornography, including thousands of images of children engaged in sex acts on a computer disk seized at his home.

Two Long Island men, one from Suffolk and one from Nassau, were arrested yesterday on childpornography charges then released on the condition that they be monitored at home.

Christopher Aquino, 41, of 110 Bayberry Lane, Levittown, posted to the Internet photos andvideos of nude underage girls and boys in sexually explicit positions. The Supreme Court said yesterday it would decide if a federal law prohibiting child pornography illegally infringes on free-speech or other rights guaranteed by the Constitution.  The court agreed to hear a Bush administration appeal of a ruling that struck down part of the 2003 law as unconstitutionally broad and vague.

William Marcus, a 25 year old convicted sex predator, was arrested last week for allegedly handcuffing a 13 year old boy to a tree and molesting him.  He is being investigated for an earlier attempted abduction.  A Staten Island mother said her 11 year old son said a man who looked like Marcus tried to abduct him as he was walking home from school on February 2 in the Great Kills section.
