Elie Quinonez, 35, of Pueblo, Colorado, was sentenced earlier this week to serve 72 months (6years) in federal prison for possessing child pornography.  Quinonez was a church pastor aswell as a correctional officer in Weld County.  He is free on bond and was ordered to reportto a facility chosen by the Bureau of Prisons within 15 days of designation.  Following hissix year prison sentence, he was ordered to serve an additional 5 years of supervisedrelease.  Quinonez was also ordered to register as a sex offender and cooperate in thecollection

Dennis DeMille, a 29 year old North Massapequa man, was arrested October 25, 2007, afterpolice learned that he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16 year old girl.  DeMille, of 443 N. Queens Avenue, faces four counts of criminal sexual act and one count each ofrape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Matthias von Wrede, a 34 year old owner of international real estate firm Engel and Volker’sin Southampton, was accused in March 2007 of possessing child pornography and was hit with federalcharges of keeping hundreds of images on his laptop computer of children having sex.  VonWrede pleaded not guilty to possessing and receiving child pornography.  He was held withoutbail.  The federal allegations mirror similar charges filed in Suffolk County on March 5, 2007,when investigators arrested him after finding the images on his laptop.  He was released fromSuffolk jail on

Today the FBI announced the results of an unprecedented five-day nationwide sweep targetingcriminals involved in trafficking children for prostitution in the United States.  The stings,dubbed Operation Cross Country, spanned 16 cities and resulted in the arrest of 389 people andthe recovery of 21 children.  – In Kansas, Don L. Elbert, III forced three underage sisters – two of whom were 14 year oldtwins – into prostitution.  He was captured and pled guilty to child sex trafficking in Mary2007.  In January, he was sentenced to eight years in prison. –
