Komi Afeto, a 33 year old women’s soccer coach at Suffolk County Community College, was arrestedfor an alleged sexual relationship with a 15 year old girl. On more than one occasion, Afeto, ofRonkonkoma, engaged in inappropriate touching and oral sex with the victim, whom he met whilecoaching her club soccer team a few years ago. Sergio Barcia, a 34 year old Jamaica cabdriver, was arraigned on charges of rape and unlawful imprisonment. He picked up a 16 year old girl in his livery cab, pulled over at Liberty Avenue and 142nd Street, climbed into the backseat and proceeded to rape the teen. The girl fled and called a friend who called 911. Cops later caught Barcia, and the victim identified him in a lineup. The suspect is being held on $75,000 bail and faces up to 25 years in jail if convicted.

Cops are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who tried to abduct three teen girls in University Heights. The man grabbed a 15 year old girl at University Avenue near 179th Street at 9:30 a.m. on March 7, but the girl managed to pull away and the man fled. Hours later, the suspect, driving a dark four-door sedan, pulled up to another 15 year old girl near Andrews Avenue. That girl ran into a nearby building after he asked her to get in the car. Galo Vasconez, a 44 year old man, was arrested for molesting a 5 year old acquaintance in his Ridgewood home last month. He allegedly pulled down the victim’s pants in his 69th Avenue residence at 10 a.m. on February 23 and fondled her. The victim told a family member who alerted police. Vasconez was arrested on a charge of sexual abuse.

William Ferebee, a 57 year old Jamaica man, was arrested for sexually abusing an 11 year old girl while she slept in her home. Ferebee, an acquaintance, is charged with sexual abuse, performing a criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child.
