The Crown says it won’t appeal the acquittals in the cases of Quebec media stars Gilbert Rozon and Eric Salvail.

A spokeswoman for the director of criminal and penal prosecutions made the announcements in a series of tweets and says the decision in the Rozon case is based on an assessment of the evidence and the fact that an appeal cannot be made on a question of fact.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The wife of a Kalamazoo pastor who along with her husband is accused of paying teens for sex has been formally charged.

Jazmonique Strickland turned herself in to Kalamazoo County authorities early Monday and was arraigned on three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of child sexual abusive activity and three counts of human trafficking a minor.

A minor boy and his mother are suing Twitter, alleging that it benefited from and neglected to remove an exploitative video — featuring him and another minor — which was retweeted thousands of times and at least 167,000 views on the platform.

Announced on Wednesday, the federal lawsuit claims that the minor, John Doe, and his mother repeatedly contacted Twitter about the content, but the social media giant allegedly didn’t suspend accounts distributing it until a federal agent from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intervened.

SAPULPA MAN GETS 60 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE AFTER PLEADING GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT

A Sapulpa man who pleaded guilty to various child sex abuse and child pornography charges was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in federal prison followed by a lifetime of post-custody supervision, according to the Tulsa U.S. Attorney’s Office.

U.S. District Judge John Dowdell ordered the prison term for Ryan David Miller, 34, after turning away a prosecutor’s request for a 100-year term.

Miller pleaded guilty Aug. 6 in Tulsa federal court to sexually exploiting a child, advertising child pornography and possessing child pornography.

SANTA BARBARA-AREA MAN FACING SEX CRIME CHARGES INVOLVING ELDERLY RESIDENTS, OFFICIALS SAY

A Santa Barbara-area man was arrested this week on suspicion of sex crimes investigators say targeted elderly victims at care homes in the area.

The investigation began on Jan. 5 of this year when the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says detectives began looking into allegations of abuse at a care home in Goleta between 2013 and 2020.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A San Angelo financial advisor was arrested after being indicted on four counts of child sex crimes.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregory F. Estes on warrants out of Taylor and Coleman counties.

Estes was indicted Thursday in Taylor County on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact.
