ALBANY MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON FOR SEX CRIMES

An Albany man who pleaded guilty to three sex crimes against a girl has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Glenn John Hallas, 55, entered his pleas on Tuesday in Linn County Circuit Court and was convicted of first-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sex abuse.
The crimes occurred between 2010 and 2012, according to court paperwork, and the victim, whom Hallas knew, was under the age of 14 at the time.
Per terms of the plea agreement, another sex crime charge was dropped at sentencing.

ALBANY MAN GUILTY OF 17 SEX CRIMES

An Albany man was found guilty of 17 sex crimes last week at the conclusion of his three-day jury trial in Linn County Circuit Court.
Henry Rivers, 54, is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8.
The jury found Rivers guilty on Oct. 29 of three counts of first-degree rape, seven counts of first-degree sodomy, five counts of first-degree sex abuse and two counts of unlawful sexual penetration.
The crimes happened between 1996 and 2006 in Albany, the Sweet Home/Holley area, and in Lebanon, according to court paperwork.

SEVEN MONTH INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN SEX CRIMES ARREST IN CLARE COUNTY

CLARE COUNTY, Mich. – A 49-year- old Houghton Lake man is now behind bars and facing charges after a seven month investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.
In February of 2020, a request was made for the Michigan State Police Mount Pleasant Post to assist with the investigation.
According to MSP, the alleged assault reportedly happened in Clare County.
The investigation revealed other attempts to commit sexual assault against other young males within the state.

MONTESANO — On Friday, Oct. 2, a manager for Willapa Behavioral Health’s youth wraparound services program was charged with nine felonies, including rape of a person with developmental disabilities.

A city man — who was released pending court hearings on 2019 rape charges — was again arrested for sexually abusing a second woman last week and released, according to court documents.
Caden L. Ross, 19, of 11 1/2 Hyatt Street was released on his own recognizance during a Cortland City Court hearing on Sept. 16, according to court records.
