A Queens man is under arrest after being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl he met on Snapchat.

Police officials say 30-year-old Andrew Ramsaroop met the teen at Smith Haven Mall back on May 13.

Detectives say Ramsaroop tried to get the teen and her friend into his car, but they refused.

Later in the day, police say Ramsaroop met the teen at a Hauppauge park and raped her. The park is part of the Renaissance Hills apartment complex.

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the Adult Survivors Act into law Tuesday.

The law opens a one-year look back window, suspending the statute of limitations for survivors who were sexually abused as an adult.

The state Assembly passed the ASA Monday, following a unanimous vote in the Senate last month.

Police say a 19-year-old has been arrested and is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old for more than a year.

Kelvin Mayen-Vasquez, of Quiogue, was arrested last week and arraigned on several child sex abuse charges, as well as endangering the welfare of a child.

Detectives say Mayen-Vasquez had repeated intercourse with the girl from March of 2021 through May of 2022.

Southampton Town Police tell News 12 they are concerned there may be other victims.

A Kingsburg man arrested last year for sex crimes with kids has admitted to the charges against him.

Brandon Howard walked out of the Fresno County courthouse with his freedom Wednesday, a sickening sight for the mother of a teenager.

“My child ended up in the hospital because this person had sexually assaulted him,” the mother of one victim told Action News.
