A 35 year old New York City police officer has been arrested and charged with sodomizing his teenage daughter at his East Islip home on New Year’s Eve. Police believe he has been sexually abusing his daughter for about five years, but he has only been charged with the recent incident. The officer was reported by the girls boyfriend early this month. Jose Saldana Mejia, a 19 year old Holtsville man, was sentenced yesterday to six months in the Suffolk County jail for taking a 13-year-old neighbor to Oklahoma in November. He picked up the girl in his car after she left for school one morning in November and drove her to Enid, Oklahoma where he had relatives. Scott Tyree, a 38 year old man from Virginia, abducted a 13 year old Pittsburgh girl he met on the Internet and kept her chained to a bed. He was held without bail and faces up to 15 years in prison.
