William Fred Weekley, a 38 year old Florence man accused of sexually abusing a 10 year old girl, was arrested Friday afternoon after he was indicted by a Lauderdale County grand jury on first degree child abuse charges. He was being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on Friday night with bail set at $100,000. The victim is described as being one of Weekley’s distant relatives.

A Supreme Court ruled that keeping sexually violent predators confined after their prison terms expire does not automatically violate their constitutional rights. In an 8-1 ruling in the case of a six time rapist in Washington State, a state’s failure to provide treatment required by law does not turn a lawful sex-predator’s confinement into unlawful punishment.

Nathaniel Bar-Jonah, a 43 year old crazed cannibal, murdered a 10 year old Montana boy, chopped his body into tiny pieces and used them to make chili and spaghetti sauce, according to prosecutors. Bar-Jonah spent 12 years behind bars for trying to kill two Massachusetts teens. He will be arraigned in Great Falls today in the kidnapping and murder of 10 year old Zachary Ramsay. A Coram man was convicted in Suffolk County Court of first degree rape, first degree sexual abuse and three counts of first degree sodomy of his daughter more than 11 years ago. Now he may be freed soon in the wake of a federal appellate court’s decision that his defense was sabotaged by an incompetent attorney. The man is not named because it would identify his daughter.
