HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Charlotte teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student is dead after an apparent murder-suicide.

A SWAT team found 63-year-old Emma Ogle and her husband, Michael, dead inside their home Wednesday morning, WSOC reported.

Detectives said a relative went to the home in the 9800 block of Hambright Road in Huntersville when Michael Ogle, 59, failed to show up for work Wednesday morning.

That family member told police she saw Emma Ogle inside the house holding a gun.

Two Disney employees and a retired middle school assistant principal have been snared in a Florida sheriff’s child pornography sting.
Their arrests and the arrests of 14 other men were announced Friday by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd as part of an undercover probe into child pornography conducted by detectives who work on computer crime cases.

A Tangent man was arrested Tuesday by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for multiple sex crimes.
Michael Ray Long, 35, was charged in Linn County Circuit Court on Wednesday afternoon with three counts of first-degree sex abuse, three counts of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of unlawful sexual penetration, and one count each of third-degree assault and strangulation, according to court paperwork.
The victim in the case is an elementary-school-aged girl whom Long knows.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A former student at St. Helens High School has filed a lawsuit accusing the district of failing to protect her from sexual abuse by a track coach and social studies teacher.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Kyle Wroblewski was arrested in 2018. In August, he was sentenced to more than four years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of sexual abuse of the underage girl.

BLOOMINGTON — The state schools superintendent has suspended the teaching license of a McLean County Unit 5 teacher accused of sex crimes.
Jonathan Hovey, who formerly taught first grade at Glenn Elementary School in Normal, is accused of sexually assaulting two students since 2005. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Hovey, of Forsyth, is accused of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, both Class X felonies, and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Class 2).
