A woman who says she was sexually assaulted after getting in a Lyft is now blaming the ride-hailing giant for allegedly mishandling her report. Alison Turkos claims she was kidnapped at gunpoint by her Lyft driver in 2017, and sexually assaulted by at least two men. And after she reported her assault, Turkos claims, Lyft still charged her for part of the ride and allowed her alleged assailant to keep driving.

Former Toronto Jewish day school teacher Stephen Schacter has been sentenced to five years in prison for sex offences against boys.
Schacter received the sentence in Ontario Superior Court on Sept. 13. He was convicted last November on three counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and one count of gross indecency.
The court heard that the offences occurred between 1982 and 2002. There were four complainants in the case, but a publication ban prevents the identification of witnesses.

(CNN)Pittsburgh Pirates’ all-star closer Felipe Vázquez was arrested Tuesday on a felony count of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services or devices, and also faces serious charges in Pennsylvania, according to statements from authorities and court documents.
Vázquez, 28, a two-time All-Star who’s among the National League leaders in saves this season, was arrested in Pittsburgh on a felony warrant from Lee County, Florida, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement statement.

A North Carolina woman was held as a sex slave and repeatedly tortured in two hotel rooms and two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, police said on Friday.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A former Grand Rapids schools teacher was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for persuading a Florida teen to produce and send him sexually explicit photographs.
Philip Paauwe, 33, earlier pleaded guilty to coercion or enticement of a minor – age 15 to 17 – for convincing the girl to send the photos, which constitute child pornography.
