Police are on a manhunt for a suspect in the vicious gunpoint rape of a 17 year old tourist in Brooklyn, a month after he was arrested for an almost identical attack but was cleared by a grand jury.  The victim, from Rhode Island, was in the city for the West Indian Parade yesterday, identified her attacker by picking his mug shot out of a photo lineup.  A month earlier, a 16 year old rape victim from Brooklyn also identified the suspect as her attacker.  Police would only identify the

Nathan Pettiford, 34, has been arrested for groping a girl in two separate incidents at an undisclosed location in Staten Island.  Between May 1 and June 30, he allegedly put his hands on the child’s waist and asked her if she was wearing panties and then fondled her.  He also allegedly warned her not to tell her grandfather.  Pettiford was charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

Malcolm Bowman, a 19 year old man, has been charged with raping and sodomizing a 13 year old girl in his Grymes Hill apartment.  He allegedly had sex with her in his Steuben Street home on June 19.  The next morning, he allegedly had sex with her again.

Eleven sexual assaults within two years have authorities stepping up patrol efforts and students at Rutgers University taking precautions.  Ten women and a 14 year old girl have been assaulted since September 2001, including attacks on May 16 and June 9 and 13.  Four of the victims were college students.  Three of the assaults have been linked by DNA evidence to one man, who authorities say attacked a student last August at knifepoint then apologized and kissed the victim before fleeing.  Authorities are awaiting test results to determine if that
