A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for forcing a 7-year-old girl to perform a sex act onhim and then started a fire in an attempt to kill her in New York’s Hudson Valley. The boyhas been charged with criminal sex act and attempted murder.

After more than eight years of delays, Paul Santiago, a convicted sex offender who worked asa nurse, is going to prison for sexually assaulting a 10 year old patient. He was sentencedto the maximum penalty, a minimum of 16 years in prison. Santiago has another criminal andanother civil case pending against him. Earlier this year, he was charged with sexuallyassaulting two women at a local medical clinic.

Pamela Ann Fahey, 43, who worked as a special education teacher, is accused of having sexwith a 13 year old boy multiple times. Fahey was charged with third degree criminal sexualconduct.

Halifax teenager Rehtaeh Parsons was taken off life-support on Sunday, the endof yet another tragic case of cyber bullying. Parsons was the victim of an alleged gang rapeand online bullying campaign over the last few months. The trauma of the rape and ongoingbullying caused depression and suicidal thoughts. Richard Thomas, a 27 year old convicted rapist, collapsed after police told him may havecontracted HIV from the woman he assaulted. Thomas was sentenced last week to five years andfour months for raping the woman while she slept. He let himself into her home uninvited inthe middle of the night and she awoke to find him raping her from behind.

Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman said on Tuesday that the two trailers have beenpermanently closed and are padlocked, although they have not been physically removed from theirlocations in Riverside and Westhampton. The county relocated approximately 26 homelessconvicted sex offenders from the trailers as of Monday, May 27. The individuals were placedin shelters across Suffolk County away from families and children and with no more than one persite.
